Hi, I'm Sian — a qualified primary school teacher and founder of Believe to Achieve Tuition. I hold a BSc in Primary Education specialising in maths, and have spent 10 years in the classroom, including as maths lead at my school.
I started Believe to Achieve Tuition because I wanted to give more children the individual attention that can be hard to find in a busy classroom. I believe every child is capable of progress — they just need the right support, the right approach, and someone who believes in them.
Every session I run is tailored to your child's individual needs, delivered with patience, warmth, and genuine enthusiasm for their progress.
In-person group sessions are Sian's main offering, held every Sunday in Carnon Downs, Truro. Online 1:1 early reading and phonics sessions are also available for those who need remote support.

Sian also offers online 1:1 sessions focused on early reading and phonics. These are tailored to your child's current level and delivered via video call — no travel needed, just a quiet space and a device. Available by arrangement at a mutually convenient time.
Every task is matched to your child's current level and needs — no generic worksheets, just meaningful progress tailored to them.
After each session, you'll receive a brief update on what your child worked on and how they got on.
Sian adapts her teaching style to suit each child — whether they're a hands-on learner, need visual prompts, or thrive with lots of encouragement.

These recommendations are from Facebook — real words from real parents whose children have worked with Sian.
"We've been using Sian for over a year now and she is amazing. We contacted her as two of our kids had hit a wall with home schooling and we couldn't get them to progress with a few problem areas. Within weeks Sian had turned this around and had them both enjoying those subjects again. She had such a positive impact that we decided to keep up the tutoring lessons after our kids caught up. From her extensive teaching experience, she has so much more understanding of what children should be capable of, that she knows exactly where to push our kids to get them to their full potential."
"My son had his first session with Sian today — he is neurodiverse and has suspected dyslexia. Sian was so understanding with him, going out of her way to choose colours he could read and also a way to communicate with him without him having to talk. He felt comfortable and engaged and I really enjoyed seeing this in him. Can't wait for my boy to carry on getting better with his reading and confidence! Sian is very approachable and kind. I would highly recommend, especially with children who need an extra hand!"
"Sian has been tutoring my son for two years now and has helped him improve both his maths and literacy greatly. She is incredibly patient with him, as he has a tendency to be very easily distracted but is also able to get him to focus. Having Sian tutor him has helped our HomeEd journey no end as I am able to focus on specific areas of learning following their sessions. Sian has also recommended workbooks which we use in conjunction with his weekly lessons. Kallan looks forward to his tutoring sessions and is completely comfortable with Sian. Would highly recommend Believe to Achieve Tuition."
